GSA Bursary
Intake Period
Fall intake: October 7- 21, 2022 (Passed)
Winter intake: January 2 - 13, 2023 (Passed)
(Applications are due at 4 pm MT on the last day of the intake)
Overview
The GSA Bursary is available in the fall and winter terms. These bursaries are meant to ease the financial strain faced by our active GSA members.
Application Note
You MUST create an account on the awards portal in the form of a GENERAL APPLICATION in order to apply for any of the awards.
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your application is complete before submission. Only COMPLETE applications will be accepted for review. Do NOT apply before or after the intake period dates.

GSA Support Bursary
Overview
The GSA Support Bursary is provided to assist UCalgary Graduate Students in meeting their financial need by bridging a financial gap that would otherwise impede the students' ability to complete their studies (and is not deemed to be emergent/unexpected). Students are eligible for one bursary per academic year. These funds are provided by the University of Calgary through a Memorandum of Understanding with the GSA, and are processed and managed jointly by the Office of the Registrar, GSA, Faculty of Graduate Studies, and Human Resources.
Eligibility
You must be a full-time, current registered graduate student and have not already received a bursary in the current academic year.
Application Note
Applicants must submit their own original application with accurate details regarding their own current financial situation. Groups of applications of a similar nature will not be accepted. Please read the application form thoroughly for details on application process, details, options, and more.

GSA Emergency Bursary

Student Emergency Funding is provided to assist graduate students in meeting an emergent/temporary/unexpected need that may impede the students’ ability to complete their studies. These funds are provided by the University of Calgary through a Memorandum of Understanding with the GSA, and are processed and managed jointly by the Office of the Registrar, GSA, Faculty of Graduate Studies, and Human Resources.
How to Apply
Effective immediately, the Emergency Bursary is available on the referral basis through graduate program advisors, professors, or enrolment services advisors.
Please note, approvals are not guaranteed and students are eligible for only one bursary per academic year.
